Homeobox protein Hox-B1 is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theHOXB1gene.[5][6][7]

Function

[edit]

This gene belongs to thehomeobox family of genes. The homeobox genes encode a highly conserved family oftranscription factors that play an important role inmorphogenesis in allmulticellular organisms.Mammals possess four similar homeoboxgene clusters, HOXA, HOXB, HOXC and HOXD, located on differentchromosomes, consisting of 9 to 11 genes arranged in tandem. This gene is one of several homeobox HOXB genes located in a cluster onchromosome 17.[7]

Interactions

[edit]

HOXB1 has been shown tointeract withPBX1.[8][9]
