HD 151613 is abinary star[5] system in the northerncircumpolar constellation ofDraco. It is visible to the naked eye with anapparent visual magnitude of 4.84.[1] The distance to this star, as estimated from its annualparallax shift of39.3 mas,[2] is 83 light years. It is moving closer to the Earth with a heliocentricradial velocity of −2 km/s.[4]
This is a single-linedspectroscopic binary[3] system with anorbital period of 363.57 days and aneccentricity of 0.35.[5] The pair were resolved throughspeckle interferometry in 1977, showing anangular separation of0.041″. They were later resolved in 1981 with a separation of0.047″, but were unresolved during 20 other attempts between 1976–1991.[9] The system is a source ofX-ray emission.[10] The visible component is anF-type main-sequence star with astellar classification of F2 V.[3] It is around 2.3 billion years old[4] with aprojected rotational velocity of 48 km/s.[7]
