György Kornis (February 26, 1927 inMiskolc – March 27, 2011 inBudapest) was a Hungarianpainter. He studied inÉcole des Beaux-Arts. His artistic style is AbstractSurrealism, influenced byHenri Matisse andPablo Picasso. From 1980 to 1990 he lived inVienna and later inBudapest. He began his career as astage designer at theParis Opera.
