Guy Édoin is aCanadian film director and screenwriter, whose debut full-length filmWetlands (Marécages) was released in 2011.[1]
Originally fromSaint-Armand,Quebec,[2] Édoin studied at theUniversité du Québec à Montréal and theUniversité de Montréal.
Prior toWetlands he wrote and directed the "Les Affluents" short film trilogy ofThe Bridge (Le Pont) in 2004,The Dead Water (Les Eaux mortes) in 2006 andBeyond the Walls (La Battue) in 2008.[3] All three films receivedPrix Jutra nominations forBest Short Film, withThe Dead Water winning at the9th Jutra Awards,[4] andBeyond the Walls received aGenie Award nomination forBest Live Action Short Drama at the29th Genie Awards.[5]
His second feature film,Ville-Marie, was released in 2015.[6]
Édoin, who isgay, frequently addressesLGBT themes in his work.[7]
He began shooting the filmFrontiers (Frontières) in fall 2021.[8]
