Kenji Ishijima (石島健至,Ishijima Kenji, born January 3, 1981) is a Japaneseprofessional wrestler better known under thering nameGuts Ishijima (ガッツ石島,Gattsu Ishijima). He is currently working as afreelancer and is best known for having founded the Japanesepromotions Guts World Pro-Wrestling and Total Triumph Team Pro-Wrestling (TTT).
Ishijima was the owner of Guts World Pro-Wrestling, apromotion which he founded and led since 2004 after he graduated inamateur wrestling at SWS Gakusei Pro Wrestling while he was studying atTeikyo University.[6] The promotion held its first show titledGuts World Vol. 1 on December 4, 2004 at theShin-Kiba 1st Ring arena, during which he teamed with Ryan Upin is a losing effort to Daisuke andMineo Fujita.[7] At theGuts World The Final ~ Bukotsu Shuen event, the promotion's final show which took place on April 15, 2018, Ishijima defended the GWC Singles Championship one last time successfully against Masked Mystery. The show also portraited the retirement match ofMr. Gannosuke who teamed up with Michio Kageyama in a losing effort toTatsumi Fujinami andHiro Saito.[8][9]
On April 20, 2018, Ishijima announced he would join Pro-Wrestling Heat-Up where he would be leading a new brand named Going-Up.[10] The first Going-Up show was held on May 27. In the main event, Ishijima teamed withBuffalo to defeat Daisuke Kanehira and Joji Ootani.[11][12]
Ishijima left Heat-Up on February 3, 2019 to form an independent group called Real Guts Army (Japanese:真GUTS軍) alongside Masked Mystery. Together, they produced a handful of shows between May and December 2019.[13]
On December 7, 2019, at theGuts Ishijima's Debut 15th Anniversary show, Ishijima announced he would create a new promotion with Masked Mystery, Toru and Shunsuke Sayama. The promotion, named Total Triumph Team (TTT), launched on January 25, 2020. On June 13, 2021, atTTT Big Match 2021, Ishijima and Speed Of Sounds (Banana Senga andTsutomu Oosugi) won theGWC 6-Man Tag Team Championship (atrios title originally defended in Guts World before it temporarily moved toDDT Pro-Wrestling's sub-brand Ganbare☆Pro-Wrestling in 2018) to bring the title back to TTT.[14]
