August H. Dean[1] (born August 19, 1994) is an American professionalstock car racing driver who last competed part-time in theNASCAR Xfinity Series driving the No. 15Ford Mustang forAM Racing and in theARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 55Toyota Camry forVenturini Motorsports. He previously drove in the series forWin-Tron Racing full-time in 2017 and 2018 and part-time in 2016, 2019 and 2020. Dean also drove forMason Mitchell Motorsports part-time in ARCA in 2016, winningthe race at Talladega that year. Dean also competed in theNASCAR Camping World Truck Series full-time in 2019 forYoung's Motorsports, and part-time in 2020 and 2021 forHill Motorsports.

Personal life

Dean is a native ofBluffton, South Carolina and the son of Charlie Dean, an HVAC company owner. Dean credits his grandfather, Charles Dean Sr., for inspiring his passion for stock car racing.[2]

ARCA Menards Series

Dean began racing part-time in 2016 withMason Mitchell Motorsports, scoring 1 win at Talladega in April. In 2017, he ran the full schedule withWin-Tron Racing, scoring a 4th-place points finish but lost rookie of the year toRiley Herbst in the season finale at Kansas. He returned to the organization in 2018, scoring his second career win atElko Speedway and finishing 6th in final points.

In 2022, Dean made the switch to Venturini Motorsports. He is currently racing in the number 55 Toyota Camry. He won the season opening race at Daytona in 2024, his first with Venturini.[citation needed]

NASCAR Truck Series

On January 9, 2019, it was announced that Dean would drive the No. 12 full-time forYoung's Motorsports in 2019.[3] He finished his Truck rookie season 15th in points.[4]

Dean chose not to return to Young's Motorsports after the 2019 season. On February 4, 2020, he joinedHill Motorsports in their No. 56Chevrolet Silverado for the season opener atDaytona International Speedway.[4]

NASCAR Xfinity Series

On August 19, 2024,AM Racing announced that Dean will pilot the No. 15 Ford Mustang at the2024 Wawa 250.[5]
