Gurbuz District (Pashto:ګربز ولسوالۍ,Persian:ولسوالی گربز) is situated in the southeast part ofKhost Province,Afghanistan. It bordersTani District to the west,Mando Zayi andKhost districts to the north andKhyber Pakhtunkhwa inPakistan to the southeast. Governor of Gurbuz District is Abdulhai Zazi.[1] TheAfghan National Security Forces (ANSF) are responsible for all law enforcement activities in the district.
According to Afghanistan's National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA), the estimated population of the district in 2020 was 29,627.[2] The district center is the village ofSekhamir Kalay situated in the northwestern part of the district. It is inhabited by the Gurbuz, aWazir subtribe.[3]
The Waziris in Khost live in the Garboz, Qalandar, and Nadar Shah Kot districts.
