Gulshani

TheGulshani (Turkish:Gülşenî) is aHalveti sub-order founded byPir Ibrahim Gulshani, aTurkomenSufiSheikh fromEastern Anatolia, who died inEgypt. His family roots reaches to Oguzata shah in Azerbaijan.

When theOttomans conquered Egypt the Gulshani order became popular with serving soldiers of the Ottoman army in Egypt. The order was later carried back toDiyarbakir andIstanbul where severalzawiyas ortekkes were established.

Ibrahim Al-Gulshani is buried at the zawiya inCairo, which was built in 1519–1524. The building, now abandoned, is included on theWorld Monuments Fund's 2018 list of monuments at risk.[1]

InÜsküdar atSelamsız, the Gulsheni-Sezai Sufi order was established by Sufis ofRomani people in Turkey.[2][3]
