Grupo Firme is aregional Mexican band based inTijuana,Baja California, that specializes inSinaloan music. Formed in 2014, they have received nominations for a variety of awards that includeLatin Grammy,Premios Juventud andPremio Lo Nuestro, being the winner in 2021 of the latter in five categories.
Grupo Firme was founded in 2014 in the city ofTijuana, Baja California, by Eduin Cazares (originally fromCuliacán, Sinaloa) and Jairo Corrales.[1][2] In 2017, they released their debut albumPasado, Presente, Futuro with a total of twelve songs. It was not very successful, but it got them noticed by the music scene. From there, they released other albums such asEl Barco andEn Vivo desde Tijuana: Los Buitrones y Los Firmes; the latter in collaboration with Los Buitres de Culiacán.[3][2]
The group rose to fame in 2020 by releasing the singles "Pídeme", "El Roto" and "Juro Por Dios". Later that year, they touredColombia, in addition to recording a live album there titledEn Vivo desde Medellín, Colombia.[4][2] The group would also go on to record a song and music video with Colombian artistMaluma, called "Cada Quién". In 2020, they were nominated for aPremios Juventud.[5] In 2021, they won four Premios Juventudes,[6] they also won five of six nominations at thePremios Lo Nuestro.[7] On November 18, they won their firstLatin Grammy Award for Best Banda Album for their albumNos Divertimos Lo Grando Lo Imposible.[8] The group's success continued in 2022 as they embarked on a stadium tour throughout the United States and Mexico called Enfiestados y Amanecidos, which kicked-off atSoFi Stadium inInglewood, California.[9]
In June 2025 the band canceled a performance in Napa, California, saying that the "Trump administration [had] suspended their visas," according to CBS News.[10]
Grupo Firme has collaborated withGrupo Frontera to create "El Amor de Su Vida", a love song that explores the possibility of one's true love finding their own true love without them. In 2022 they sang withBanda El Recodo at theSoFi Stadium[11]
On 26 April 2024, the Mexican singerThalía released a collaboration with Grupo Firme titled "Te Va a Doler". The song became a hit in US radios, reaching number one onBillboard'sLatin Airplay andLatin Pop Airplay.[citation needed]
While performing it at their concert tour La Última Peda, Grupo Firme announced theirdance-pop collaboration with American singerDemi Lovato, titled "Chula", which was released on August 15, 2024.[12]
