Gregory O'Brian Brathwaite (born 9 December 1969) is acricket umpire fromBarbados.[1] HisOne Day International (ODI) umpiring debut was on 7 August 2011, in a match between Canada and Afghanistan in the2011–13 ICC World Cricket League Championship.[2] He officiated in his firstTwenty20 International (T20I) match, betweenthe West Indies and Australia, on 27 March 2012.[3]
He is a member of theInternational Cricket Council (ICC)International Panel of Umpires and Referees, representing theWest Indies.[4]
He was one of the on-field umpires for the2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup,[5] and the2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20.[6] In February 2020, the ICC named him as one of the umpires to officiate in matches during the2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Australia.[7]
In March 2021, in the series betweenthe West Indies and Sri Lanka, Brathwaite stood in his first Test as an umpire.[8][9]
