Gregory "Greg" Franchi (born 6 April 1982, inFlémalle) is aBelgian former racing driver.
Franchi began hiskarting career in 2000, with the 36th place in European Championship Formula A.[1]
Franchi make debut in his formula racing career in FrenchFormula Ford championship where he finished as runner-up.[2]
After race atAutódromo do Estoril in theFormula Renault 2000 Eurocup in 2001, he remained for 2002, but switched toADM Junior Team. He finished 39th without scoring a point.[3] Also he participated in three races of theItalian Formula Renault Championship with the same team.[4]
In 2003, Franchi stepped up to theItalian Formula Three Championship with theLucidi Motors team. He finished third in the standings after taking four podium places.[5] Also he appeared as a guest driver atCircuit de Spa-Francorchamps inBritish Formula 3.[6]
Franchi moved toSignature and theFormula 3 Euro Series in2004, finishing season on the 29th position.[7] He remained in series for thefollowing season, but switched to thePrema Powerteam. He improved to seventeenth place in the standings and scored four points.[8]
In2006 he stepped up to theFormula Renault 3.5 Series with Prema Powerteam. He took ten points, finishing in third place atMonaco race that was part of theFormula One Grand Prix weekend.[9] It was single points for him and he received 25th final position in standings.[10]
In 2007, Franchi moved to touring car and GT racing, competing in series such asEurocup Mégane Trophy,FIA GT,Belcar andFFSA GT Championship.
