Kandace Greer Grammer (born February 15, 1992)[2] is an American actress and former beauty queen. She is best known for her role as Lissa Miller in theMTV seriesAwkward and for her role in the 2021Netflix-released filmDeadly Illusions.
Grammer is the daughter of actorKelsey Grammer and stylist Barrie Buckner. She was named after actressGreer Garson.[3] Early in life she became largely estranged from her famous father until they coincidentally reconnected when she was 16 at aChristmas tree lot while she was doingcommunity service as Miss Teen Malibu.[4]
Grammer attendedIdyllwild Arts Academy for two years, receiving training under their theater program.[5]
Grammer served asMiss Golden Globe 2015 at the72nd Golden Globe Awards.[6]
Grammer entered her first beauty pageant in 2008, winning the title of Miss Teen Malibu. She went on to place within the top 10 in theMiss California Teen competition. She competed again the following year, successfully retaining her crown and again placing within the Top 10 of the state competition.[7] In 2009, she represented theMarina Del Rey region, placing in the Top 10 of the 2010 state competition for the third year in a row.[8] That year, Grammer also held the title of Miss Regional California Teen 2011.[9]
Grammer competed at the Miss California Teen 2011 competition representingThousand Oaks. She placed in the Top 10. After this competition, she retired from beauty pageants.[10]
Grammer's first acting role was on a 2010 episode ofiCarly ("iSpace Out").[11]
It was announced in June 2015 that Grammer would be starring in the upcoming Lifetime original movie,Manson's Lost Girls, to be released in 2016. In July 2015, it was announced that she would be starring asSummer Roberts inThe Unauthorized O.C. Musical, a stage adaptation of the pilot episode ofThe O.C.[12]
In 2016, Grammer began a recurring role on theABC sitcomThe Middle, playing Axl Heck's girlfriend April. The role lasted until 2017.[13] In 2021, she acted in the thriller drama film,Deadly Illusions.[14]
In June 2024, it was announced that Grammer had been cast as an older version ofRoz Doyle's daughter Alice in theFrasier sequel series.[15]
