Grant Harrington Napear[1] is an American radio personality who currently hosts his ownpodcastIf You Don't Like That With Grant Napear. Before this he hostedThe Grant Napear Show atKHTK Sports 1140 inSacramento, California where he was fired fortweeting "All lives matter, Every Single One" during theGeorge Floyd protest. He was also the play-by-playannouncer for theSacramento Kings of theNational Basketball Association (NBA) but resigned. He has been aguest host onThe Jim Rome Show. His signature phrase is "If you don't like that, you don't like NBA basketball".[2]

Early life

Born inSyosset, New York, Napear graduated fromSyosset High School in 1977 and earned hisacademic degree inbroadcast journalism fromBowling Green University, where he also played lacrosse.[3]

Views on race

Napear has been accused of racism by former players for the Sacramento Kings and has come under fire for defendingDonald Sterling, the former owner of theLos Angeles Clippers banned from the NBA after making racist remarks.[6] On May 31, 2020, after the start of theGeorge Floyd protests, Napear was placed on leave by KHTK after he responded onTwitter to former Kings' playerDeMarcus Cousins' question regardingBlack Lives Matter with the phrase "All lives matter, Every Single One." Two days later, the station announced that they had fired Napear then he announced he had resigned from his TV position with the Kings.[7]
