Thestriated laughingthrush (Grammatoptila striata) is apasserine bird in thefamilyLeiothrichidae. It was at one time placed in thegenusGarrulax but following the publication of a comprehensivemolecular phylogenetic study in 2018, it was moved to be the onlyspecies in the resurrected genusGrammatoptila.[2][3]
It is found in the northerntemperate regions of theIndian subcontinent and ranges acrossBhutan,India,Myanmar,Tibet andNepal. Its naturalhabitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowlandforests and subtropical or tropical moistmontane forests.
