Grêmio Novorizontino, commonly referred to as simplyNovorizontino, is aBrazilian association football club inNovo Horizonte, São Paulo. They currently play in theSérie B, the second tier ofBrazilian football, as well as in theCampeonato Paulista Série A1, the first tier of the São Paulostate football league.
A replacement to dissolvedGrêmio Esportivo Novorizontino, the club was founded on 1 March 2010, inheriting the club's colors and logo.[1][2] After spending its first years in amateur football, the club joinedFederação Paulista de Futebol in 2010, but only appeared in a competition of the federation in 2012.
In its first professional year, Novorizontino achieved a promotion fromCampeonato Paulista Segunda Divisão, finishing fourth.[3] After managing to survive in 2013'sSérie A3, the club was crowned champions in the following year, after defeatingIndependente de Limeira by 5–0 on aggregate.[4]
On 28 April 2015, Novorizontino sealed its promotion toSérie A1, finishing second in the tournament.[5]
