Grégoire Matthieu Saucy (French pronunciation:[ɡʁe.ɡwaʁso.si]; born 26 December 1999) is a Swissracing driver who competes in theFIA World Endurance Championship forUnited Autosports.
Saucy won the2021 Formula Regional European Championship withART.[1]
Saucy's first year in single seaters was in2016 when he drove RC Formula and later GSK Grand Prix in theV de V Challenge Monoplace. The three podiums Saucy scored on his way to fourth in the championship were all second places in the three races atCircuit de Nevers Magny-Cours.[2]

Jenzer Motorsport signed Saucy to race for them2017 as a guest driver in theItalian F4 Championship. In the six races he partook in, Saucy finished in points scoring positions twice both atMugello Circuit.[3]
Saucy raced his first season inADAC Formula 4 in2018 where he raced as a guest driver forJenzer Motorsport like he did the year previously in the Italian F4 championship.[4] In the two races he raced he finished 11th and fifth.
Saucy once again raced for Jenzer inItalian F4 until the final race of the season where he made the switch to the French teamR-ace GP.[5] His best result was fifth and he also scored a double pole position at round 3 inMonza, putting him 11th in the standings with 63 points.[6]
In 2019, Saucy contested the fullADAC Formula 4 season forR-ace GP.[7] He finished on the podium twice inZandvoort andSachsenring, allowing him to end the season in ninth, 28 points behind his teammateMichael Belov.[8]
Following on from the last race of 2018, Saucy drove for R-ace GP again inItalian F4 for selected rounds.[9] He finished the season in 15th while only competing in three rounds; his highest finish being a fourth place at theRed Bull Ring.[10]

Saucy's first year in Formula Renault was in2017 when he raced forAVF byAdrián Vallés.[11] He only competed in the first four rounds, and had a best finish of 12th in the championship.
Saucy returned toFormula Renault Eurocup in 2019 for the final two rounds withR-ace GP.[12] Competing as a guest driver, Saucy would finish fifth in his first race, and proceed to finish 12th in the remaining three races.[13]
In 2020, Saucy raced forART Grand Prix alongsidePaul Aron andVictor Martins.[14] He secured his first podium at theNürburgring where he came in third place,[15] and finished third again inSpa-Francorchamps.[16] With his two podiums, Saucy came seventh in the standings.
At the beginning of 2020, Saucy signed up to drive in theToyota Racing Series with Giles Motorsport.[17] Securing two second places in the campaign, he placed sixth in the standings.[18]

For2021, Saucy remained withART Grand Prix competing in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, the merger of theFormula Renault Eurocup and theFormula Regional European Championship. His teammates wereGabriele Minì andThomas ten Brinke.[19] He started the season off in a dominant fashion, winning the second race of the season atImola and following that up with two victories inBarcelona.[20][21] After a point-less round inMonaco and a disqualification from the lead in France, courtesy of a part having been reassembled in the wrong direction following post-race scrutineering, he returned to winning ways in the second race at Paul Ricard.[22][23][24] The Swiss driver dominated the next weekend at theCircuit Zandvoort with two pole positions and two race wins.[25][26] Saucy started the first race atSpa-Francorchamps in 24th courtesy of a mixed-up qualifying session, but he was able to fight back to eighth by the checkered flag.[27] He started the second race from pole and achieved his seventh victory of the season.[28] In the seventh round of the campaign Saucy once again scored a race win, this time inheriting the top step of the podium after a penalty was handed to initial winnerFranco Colapinto for track limit breaches.[29] Saucy scored his first podium that was not a win in the next round, coming third in race 2 inValencia, and went into the penultimate round with a 78-point gap on his closest rivalHadrien David.[30] He then finished the first race atMugello in fifth place, and with his French adversary ending up 23rd, Saucy was crowned champion with three races left to go.[1] Saucy ended the season with a total of eight victories, eight podiums, 277 points and ten podiums, meaning that he stood on the podium after precisely half of all races.[31]

In November 2021 Saucy partook in the post-season test of theFIA Formula 3 Championship withART Grand Prix, partneringVictor Martins andJuan Manuel Correa.[32][33] A few days after the test he was announced byART to be one of the team's drivers for the2022 season.[34] He qualified fourth on his debut, beating both his teammates.[35] After starting out the season with a retirement caused by a collision with teammate Martins, in which the Swiss was given a grid drop,[36] Saucy scored his first podium in the category in the feature race inSakhir.[37] At the next round inImola, the Swiss driver was on course for another third place, before being taken out byOllie Bearman on the final lap.[38] From there, Saucy experienced a drop in performances, having to wait until the sprint race inHungary for his next points.[39] He followed that up with an inconsistent end to the season, which included points finishes inZandvoort andMonza, but also a pair of retirements, after which he stated that his results masked the underlying pace him and the team had.[40] Saucy ended his season 15th in the standings, finishing behind his teammates Martins and Correa.[41]

In November 2022,ART Grand Prix announced Saucy would remain with the team for the2023 season, where he would partnerKaylen Frederick andNikola Tsolov.[42] Qualifying third for theBahrain round,[43] he began the season with fourth in the feature race, and then improved to qualify on the front row inMelbourne.[44] He would then convert it into his first podium of the year, remaining in second and marking him as a title contender.[45][46] Another podium followed in theMonaco sprint race, despite been penalised from reverse pole.[47][48] However, he suffered similar fortunes to the year before, only securing three more points finishes throughout the season. This was interrupted with a pole position inAustria,[49] but was unable to capitalise after sustaining a puncture in the battle for the lead.[50] His season, being plagued by numerous unlucky incidents, saw Saucy only 14th in the standings with 54 points, albeit the highest placed ART driver.[51]
Saucy joinedMP Motorsport for the final post-season testing inImola.[52]

After two disappointing seasons inFIA Formula 3, Saucy made the transition toendurance racing, racing forUnited Autosports in the2024 FIA World Endurance Championship in theLMGT3 category.[53] Saucy and his teammates started the campaign with two point-free events, but earned a fourth place during theSpa-Francochamps.[54] Heartbreak followed inLe Mans when Saucy's car retired from an issue after being in podium contention.[55] Nevertheless, Saucy followed that with two straight fourth places inSão Paulo andAustin.[56][57] After finishing sixth for the8 Hours of Bahrain, Saucy and his teammates were classified ninth in the LMGT3 standings.[58]

That year, Saucy also teamed up with prototype stalwartMathias Beche and bronze-rankedRodrigo Sales in theLMP2 Pro-Am class of theEuropean Le Mans Series withRichard Mille by TDS.[59] Following a Pro-Am podium at the season-opener inBarcelona, Saucy and his teammates would go on to win atLe Castellet.[60][61] He secured pole for theSpa-Francorchamps but retired after making a mistake following a safety car restart.[62] He then won once again during the4 Hours of Mugello.[63] Overall, it was a very successful season for Saucy and the team as they placed fourth in the LMP2 standings.
Saucy would remain withUnited Autosports to race in the2025 FIA World Endurance Championship in theLMGT3 category.[64]
In May 2024, Saucy was chosen by theNEOM McLaren Formula E Team to partake in theBerlin rookie test.[65]
