Gorka Larrea García (born 7 April 1984) is a Spanish formerfootballer who played as amidfielder.
Larrea was bornSan Sebastián,Gipuzkoa. A product ofReal Sociedad's youth system, he first appeared for its main squad on 23 May 2004, playing 20 minutes in a 4–1 away win againstReal Madrid (his only game ofthe season. He added a further three latesubstitute appearances inthe following campaign).[3] For2006–07 he was loaned toSegunda División clubUD Almería, playing an important role in theAndalusians' first-everLa Liga promotion.
In July 2007, Larrea returned to theBasques, who now competed in the second level. He appeared in only nine matches duringthe season, being subsequently released and joiningLevante UD also in that tier.[4]
Larrea featured regularly over the course of two division two campaigns, but only played six times in2010–11's top flight – 235 minutes of action – in spite of having previously renewed his contract,[5] leaving in June 2011 and signing withCD Numancia in the second tier.[6] He scored his first and only goal for theSoria team on 27 August 2011, helping to a 1–1 draw atCD Alcoyano.[7][8]
On 11 June 2014, Larrea signed withMajor League Soccer'sMontreal Impact after training for a month with the club.[9] In early 2016 he switched to theNorth American Soccer League, having agreed to a deal atIndy Eleven.[10]
Larrea representedSpain at various youth levels. He was part ofthe squad that won the2001 UEFA European Under-16 Championship, and also helped theunder-23s win the2005 Mediterranean Games.
