The Good Brothers are an Americanprofessional wrestlingtag team consisting ofDoc Gallows andKarl Anderson. They are well known for their time inNew Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), andWWE, where they performed under the team nameLuke Gallows and Karl Anderson.
First put together in 2013 as part of theBullet Clubstable, they worked in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). They also worked as a tag team in the United States forRing of Honor (ROH) and various promotions on theindependent circuit. In NJPW, they arethree-timeIWGP Tag Team Champions, and the winners of the2013 World Tag League. In February 2016, the two left NJPW to sign with WWE as Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, where they becametwo-timeRaw Tag Team Champions, and the winners of theWWE Tag Team World Cup. In 2020, the two were released from WWE as part of budget cuts relating to theCOVID-19 pandemic, and joinedImpact Wrestling, upon which the once-informal moniker of the "Good Brothers" became their official team name, and winning threeImpact World Tag Team Championships during their tenure there. They left Impact in 2022 and returned to WWE that October until their release in February 2025.
On November 11, 2013,New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) announced the participating teams in the2013 World Tag League. Included was a team representing theBullet Clubstable, made up of founding memberKarl Anderson and the debutingDoc Gallows.[11] Anderson had been working for NJPW regularly since 2008,[7] while Gallows, a formerWWE performer, had most recently worked forTotal Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).[5] The two ended up winning their block with a record of four wins and two losses,[12] and on December 8, first defeatedTogi Makabe andTomoaki Honma in the semifinals and thenHiroyoshi Tenzan andSatoshi Kojima in the finals to win the tournament.[13] This led to a match on January 4, 2014, atWrestle Kingdom 8 in Tokyo Dome, where they defeatedK.E.S. (Davey Boy Smith Jr. andLance Archer) to win theIWGP Tag Team Championship.[14] Anderson and Gallows ended up holding the title for a full year, successfully defending it six times.[15] In December 2014, the two made it to the finals of their second consecutiveWorld Tag League, but were defeated there byHirooki Goto andKatsuyori Shibata,.[16] who then went on to defeat them for IWGP Tag Team Championship on January 4, 2015, atWrestle Kingdom 9 in Tokyo Dome.[17]
On February 11 atThe New Beginning in Osaka, Anderson and Gallows defeated Goto and Shibata in a rematch to regain the IWGP Tag Team Championship.[18] Their second reign ended on April 5 atInvasion Attack 2015, where they were defeated byThe Kingdom (Matt Taven andMichael Bennett) in their first defense.[15][19] Anderson and Gallows won the title for a third time on July 5 atDominion 7.5 in Osaka-jo Hall by defeating The Kingdom in a rematch.[20] After a six-month reign that saw Anderson and Gallows successfully defend the title once,[15] they lost the title to2015 World Tag League winners Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma on January 4, 2016, atWrestle Kingdom 10 in Tokyo Dome.[21]

In the midst of rumors they were leaving NJPW,[22][23] Anderson and Gallows received a rematch for the IWGP Tag Team Championship, but were again defeated by Makabe and Honma on February 14 atThe New Beginning in Niigata.[24] Anderson and Gallows wrestled their final NJPW match on February 20 atHonor Rising: Japan 2016, where they teamed with their Bullet Club stablematesBad Luck Fale andTama Tonga in an eight-man tag team match, where they were defeated byBobby Fish, Hirooki Goto, Katsuyori Shibata andKyle O'Reilly.[25][26]
Anderson and Gallows made their debut for AmericanRing of Honor (ROH) promotion on May 17, 2014, during theWar of the Worlds event, which was co-produced by ROH and NJPW, successfully defending the IWGP Tag Team Championship againstThe Briscoes (Jay Briscoe andMark Briscoe).[27] They also appeared for ROH in 2015,[28] and on January 23, 2016, took part in an eight-man tag team match, where all three of the promotion's titles were on the line in which Anderson and Gallows teamed up with Bullet Club stablematesThe Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson), but were defeated byROH World ChampionJay Lethal,ROH World Television ChampionRoderick Strong andROH World Tag Team ChampionsWar Machine (Hanson andRay Rowe), who all retained their titles.[29]
On December 20, 2014, Anderson and Gallows made their debut as a tag team on the Americanindependent circuit, defeating Reality Check (Craven Varro and Devon Moore) at a Pro Wrestling Syndicate (PWS) event.[30] During the summer of 2015, the two worked severalGlobal Force Wrestling (GFW) events,[31] where they took part in theGFW Tag Team Championship tournament.[32] In October 2015, Anderson and Gallows took part in aRevolution Pro Wrestling (RPW) event inReading, England, which also featured several other NJPW wrestlers.[33] That same month, they also took part in German promotionWestside Xtreme Wrestling's World Tag Team Tournament, where they made it to the quarterfinals, before losing toBig Daddy Walter andZack Sabre Jr.[34]
"Anderson and Gallows have nearly had all the luster removed from them since their debut ... . [They] appear to be just another tag team that gets used as fodder whenever a main event story crosses their path. ... Roman Reigns gains next to nothing from beating Karl Anderson without first establishing that as an accomplishment."
On January 5, 2016, one day afterWrestle Kingdom 10, WWE.com published an article teasing the signing of severalNew Japan Pro-Wrestling stars including Gallows and Anderson,Bullet Club stablemateAJ Styles, andShinsuke Nakamura.[36] On the April 11, 2016 episode ofRaw, Gallows (who returned to his Luke Gallows ring name) and Anderson made their respective return and debut forWWE, attackingThe Usos (Jey and Jimmy Uso), establishing themselves asheels in the process and with the duo's NJPW background being acknowledged by WWE announcers.[37] On the following week'sRaw, WWE began teasing an alliance between Gallows and Anderson and their former Bullet Club stablemateAJ Styles when, after meeting Styles in a backstage interview, Gallows and Anderson attacked hisPayback opponentRoman Reigns in the ring; Styles, however, did not seem pleased with the attack.[38] Gallows and Anderson wrestled their first WWE match on the April 25Raw, defeating The Usos.[39] Over the next weeks, Gallows and Anderson continued teasing an uneasy alliance with Styles, while having several face offs with The Usos and Reigns, including at Payback, where the two failed in their attempt to help Styles capture theWWE World Heavyweight Championship from Reigns,[40] and the following week'sSmackDown, where the two suffered their first WWE loss, when Reigns pinned Anderson in a six-man tag team match.[35] On the May 9Raw, the trio of Styles, Gallows and Anderson was dubbed "The Club".[41] The Club disbanded two weeks later onRaw, when Styles stated that he wanted an amicable separation from Gallows and Anderson, blaming them and The Usos for his failure to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the previous day'sExtreme Rules.[42] Though Styles stated that the three could remain "brothers", Gallows and Anderson refused and ended the friendship altogether.[43] On the May 30 episode ofRaw, Gallows and Anderson entered theWWE Tag Team Championship picture by attacking reigning championsThe New Day, while later in the show, Styles turned on the returningJohn Cena and reunited with Gallows and Anderson.[44] On July 19, The Club was split up in the2016 WWE draft with Gallows and Anderson being drafted toRaw and Styles toSmackDown,[45] which resulted in them wrestling their last match together as a trio on July 24 atBattleground in a loss against John Cena,Enzo Amore and Big Cass.[46]
