Golitsyno (Russian:Голи́цыно) is atown inOdintsovsky District ofMoscow Oblast,Russia, located 40 kilometers (25 mi) west ofMoscow. Population:17,593 (2010 census);[2]16,189 (2002 census);[7]23,315 (1989 Soviet census).[8]

History

It was founded as a settlement in 1872 and was granted town status in 2004. The city is named afterHouse of Golitsyn.

Administrative and municipal status

Within theframework of administrative divisions, it is, together with sixrural localities, incorporated withinOdintsovsky District as theTown of Golitsyno.[1] As amunicipal division, the Town of Golitsyno is incorporated within Odintsovsky Municipal District asGolitsyno Nuzhdin-Grad.[4]
