AfterGlamour announced that it would be giving an award to Caitlyn Jenner in November 2015, the husband of New York police officerMoira Smith returned the "Woman of the Year" award thatGlamour had awarded her, with an open letter toCyndi Lieve, the magazine's editor-in-chief.[28] Jenner decided to return the award, in 2024.[29]

Was there no woman in America, or the rest of the world, more deserving than this man? I can only guess that this was a publicity stunt meant to resuscitate a dying medium. After discussing this slap in the face to the memory of our Hero with my family, I have decided to return Moira's award toGlamour magazine.
