Gillies Gene Kaka (born 28 May 1990 inNew Zealand) is a New Zealand Olympianrugby union player for theHino Red Dolphins.

Career

Kaka plays for theNew Zealand National Rugby Sevens team. He made his debut at the Wellington Sevens. Kaka has participated in the 2014Commonwealth Games where New Zealand won silver.[2][3] He was in the HSBC Dream Team alongsideTim Mikkelson. Kaka played forHawke's Bay before becoming a full-timeNew Zealand National Rugby Sevens player.[4] OfMāori descent, Kaka affiliates toNgāti Kahungunu andTe Arawa.[5]

Kaka was named in theNew Zealand squad for the2016 Summer Olympics.[6][7][8] Kaka finished his sevens career with 33 competition appearances, 169 games, 65 tries and 807 points.[citation needed]
