Gidar (Gidder), orKaɗa, is aBiu–Mandara (Chadic) language ofCameroon andChad.

Gedar is spoken fromGuider to the Chadian border in the Far North Region of Cameroon, inMayo-Kani Department (arrondissements ofKaélé andMoutourwa), and in the North Region,Mayo-Louti Department.[3]Baynawa means "my friend" in the Gedar language, and this name is what some people use for the Gedar (ALCAM 1983).
