TheGerman Association for the Exploration of Palestine (German:Der Deutsche Verein zur Erforschung Palästinas;Hebrew:האגודה הגרמנית לחקר ארץ ישראל) also known as theGerman Palestine Society (Deutscher Palästina-Verein) was founded in 1877 to promote the scientific study of the history and culture ofPalestine, especially itsBiblical past. Its headquarters were inLeipzig, and its current headquarters are inBonn.[1][2]

It was founded by on September 28, 1877, byCarl Ferdinand Zimmermann [de],Albert Socin, andEmil Friedrich Kautzsch.[3]
