Gerald Scheiblehner (born 25 February 1977) is an Austrian professionalfootball manager who is the current head coach of Swiss record championsGrasshopper Club Zürich.
Scheiblehner is a youth product ofVOEST Linz and SC Marchtrenk. He had a stint as a professional footballer withAustria Wien, where he mostly played for their reserves. He had a short loan withASKÖ Donau Linz, before moving toEintracht Wels in 2021. After a short stint withVöcklabruck, he finished his career withWallern from 2003 to 2009.[1]
After he ended his playing career, he became coach and sporting ofASKÖ Donau Linz in theAustrian Landesliga. He caught attention for strong league finishes and youth development in his 4 years there. In 2014 he became coach ofUnion St. Florian in theAustrian Regionalliga. From 2015 to 2019 he trainedSK Vorwärts Steyr. In 2017–18 the club was promoted to the2. Liga after coming 3rd in the league and winning the playoffs, and extended his contract until 2020.[2] In 2019, he became coach ofJuniors OÖ in the 2. Liga.[3] On 18 June 2021, he moved toBlau-Weiß Linz.[4] He helped Blau-Weiß Linz win the2022–23 Austrian Football Second League, was named coach of the season in the division, and earned them promotion to theAustrian Football Bundesliga.[5][6]
He departed BW Linz on 23 June 2025.[7] One day later, he was confirmed as the new head coach ofSwiss Super League sideGrasshopper Club Zürich.[8] He signs on a two year contract until 2027.
Scheiblehner has been married to his wife for over 18 years and together they have three sons.
