Gerald Stanley Roberts (1 May 1908 – 16 July 1944) was an English professionalfootballer who played as afull back in theFootball League forTranmere Rovers.[1]

Personal life

Roberts served as aserjeant in the144th Regiment,Royal Armoured Corps (8th Battalion,East Lancashire Regiment) during theSecond World War and waskilled during theBattle of Normandy on 16 July 1944.[2][3] He is buried at St. Manvieu War Cemetery,Cheux.[3]
