Georgia participated in theJunior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 which took place on 22 November 2008, inLemesos,Cyprus.Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) was responsible for organising their entry for the contest. Group Bzikebi was externally selected to represent Georgia with the song "Bzz..". Georgia won the contest with 154 points.

Prior to the 2008 Contest,Georgia had participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest once in2007, being represented by Mariam Romelashvili with the song "Odelia Ranuni", placing fourth with 116 points.[1]

Georgia selected theirJunior Eurovision entry for 2008 using a national selection consisting of 9 songs. The winner was trio Bzikebi, with the song "Bzz..".

The winning contestants,Bzikebi (Georgian:ბზიკები, "wasps"), are a trio fromTbilisi. managed by Georgian composerGiga Kukhiadnidze. The group consists of Giorgi Shiolashvili (born(1998-03-07)7 March 1998,Georgian:გიორგი შიოლაშვილი), Mariam Kikuashvili (born(1998-01-22)22 January 1998,Georgian:მარიამ კიკუაშვილი), and Mariam Tatulashvili (born(1998-04-05)5 April 1998,Georgian:მარიამ თათულაშვილი),[3][4] who were all ten years old during the contest.[5]

Bzikebi won theJunior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 inLemesos,Cyprus on 22 November 2008 with their song "Bzz..".[6] During their performance they were dressed in outfits with black and yellow stripes resembling bees[5][7][8] and they sang in a made-up language.[4] They won the competition with a total of 154 points.[6][9]

In 2010, they appeared at the Interval Act where the winners reunited. It was played from the studio version. Then, In 2017, after years of absence, the trio made a reappearance at the opening ceremony ofJunior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 inTbilisi and performed as part of the winners interval act at the2022 contest inYerevan.[10]

During the running order draw which took place on 14 October 2008, Georgia was drawn to perform sixth on 22 November 2008, followingGreece and precedingBelgium.[11]

Final

During the final, Bzikebi performed downstage in outfits combining both yellow and black, resembling bees. Bzikebi won theJunior Eurovision Song Contest 2008, receiving 154 points for their song "Bzz..".[12][13]
