George Willoughby Fraser (baptized 5 August 1866 – 24 November 1923) was an Englishcivil engineer who operated at the service of theEgypt Exploration Fund. His parents were Sir Thomas Fraser and Matilda Wildman.
As part of his work for the Egypt Exploration Fund, he worked as a draftsman in the excavations conducted by SirFlinders Petrie,Percy Edward Newberry andMarcus Worsley Blackden in theFaiyum, inBeni Hasan, inDeir el-Bersha and in the quarries ofHatnub. Less well known is his description of the burial ground dating to the4th and5th dynasties, two kilometers south ofTuna el-Gebel, later renamedFraser Tombs in his honor.[1]
