George Patterson (November 26, 1939 – December 22, 2003)[1] was an American professionalbasketball player who played in theNational Basketball Association (NBA). Patterson was originally drafted in the twelfth round of the1961 NBA draft by theCincinnati Royals. He would finally play in the NBA with theDetroit Pistons from 1967 to 1968. Later, he was selected by theMilwaukee Bucks in the1968 NBA expansion draft.

He attended high school inPittsburgh, Pennsylvania.[2]

George Patterson was the grandfather ofShea Patterson, former quarterback of theUniversity of Michigan football team.
