George David Muir (born 24 February 1994)[1] is a New Zealandfield hockey player.[2]

Personal life

George Muir was born and raised on theNorth Shore, New Zealand.[3]

Muir works as a lawyer at Thompson Blackie Biddles inAuckland.[4]

Career

In theNew Zealand National Hockey League, Muir plays forNorth Harbour.[5]

National teams

Muir appeared in theNew Zealand U-21 side on two occasions; at the2012 Sultan of Johor Cup and the2013 FIH Junior World Cup.[6]

Black Sticks

In 2013, Muir made his senior international debut for theBlack Sticks during the2012–13 FIH World League Semi-Finals inRotterdam.[6][5]

Muir's most prominent appearance with the national team was at the2018 Commonwealth Games on theGold Coast, where the team won a silver medal.[7][8]

During theinaugural tournament of theFIH Pro League, Muir was a member of the New Zealand team that finished in 8th place.[9][10]
