American dietitian and veganism activist
George Eisman (August 5, 1950 – April 23, 2017) was an American registereddietitian andveganism activist. He was the co-founder of theAcademy of Nutrition and Dietetics Vegetarian Nutrition Practice Group. In 1993, he was inducted into theVegan Hall of Fame .[ 1]
Early life and education [ edit ] Eisman was born inMiami .[ 2] Middlebury College and obtained a bachelor's degree fromFlorida State University . In 1975, he obtained a master's degree in geography from theUniversity of Toronto and a master's degree in nutrition fromFlorida International University in 1976.[ 2] [ 3]
Eisman was one of seven reviewers for the 1988 position of theAmerican Dietetic Association on vegetarian diets.[ 4] Miami Dade College .[ 2] [ 5] [ 6] T. Colin Campbell .[ 6] [ 7]

Eisman died from cancer atWatkins Glen, New York in 2017, aged 66.[ 2]
