George Alexander ChadwickDD (10 October 1840 – 29 December 1923) was theBishop of Derry and Raphoe.[1]
Born on 10 October 1840 and educated atTrinity College, Dublin,[2] he was ordained in 1863 and began his career as a curate at St Anne, Belfast. He was then appointedRector of St James,Belfast where he remained until 1872.[3] He wasRector of St Mark'sArmagh until 1886 when he becameDean ofArmagh. In 1896 he was elevated to the episcopate,[4] being elected on 18 February and consecrated on 25 March.
An eminent author,[5] he resigned hissee on 31 January 1916 and died on 29 December 1923[6]
