TheGeological Survey of Slovenia (Slovene:Geološki zavod Slovenije, abbreviatedGeoZS) is the primary geological research institute ofSlovenia. It was founded on May 7, 1946.[1][2]
While Slovenia was part ofAustro-Hungary, geological studies were carried out by the Imperial Geological Office (K. K. Geologischen Reichsanstalt), which is now theFederal Geological Office (Geologische Bundesanstalt) of Austria.[1]
