TheGeo of Ork is a narrow and deep cleft in thecliff face of the northernmost point on theisland ofShapinsay in theOrkney islands. The termgeo orgya derives fromOld Norse gjá.[1] This landform was created by thewave drivenerosion of cliffs alongfaults orbedding planes in therock.[2] A well-preserved prehistoricbroch lies slightly to the south of Geo of Ork on the eastern coast of Shapinsay. Thisdrystone broch has extant remains of ancient stone furniture inside.[3]
