Gauthier Onclin (born 26 February 2001) is a Belgian professionaltennis player. He has a career-highATP singles ranking of world No. 192, achieved on 5 May 2025.[2][3] He is currently the No. 7 singles player from Belgium.[4] Onclin plays mainly on theATP Challenger Tour.
In January, Onclin reached the semifinals of the2023 BW Open inOttignies-Louvain-la-Neuve where he lost to eventual champion and compatriotDavid Goffin.[5]
In May, he defeated the higher-rankedElias Ymer at a Challenger event inBordeaux in the first round.[6] At the2023 French Open he defeatedNicholas David Ionel in straight sets in the first round of qualifying before losing to ArgentineThiago Agustin Tirante in three sets.[7] Onclin got his revenge over the Argentine in the qualifying at the2023 Wimbledon Championships, winning in straight sets during his first ever grass-court summer, as his junior years coincided with the grass-court portion of the Tour cancellation due to theCOVID-19 pandemic.[8]
In October, he received a wildcard in doubles for theEuropean Open inAntwerp, alongside compatriotMichael Geerts.[9] At the same tournament, in the qualifying singles competition, he defeated higher-ranked AmericanMaxime Cressy.[10]
In May, Onclin reached his firstChallenger final at thePrague Open. He lost to the former world No. 35Jiří Veselý.[11][12] In October and November 2024 he reached two M25 finals in Portugal where he faced the same opponent, losing the first toFrederico Ferreira Silva but winning the second at the Vale do Lobo Open III.[13] He closed out 2024 with a second title in two weeks, and 12th ITF title, winning the M25 inMonastir, Tunisia, recording 10 consecutive victories on the ITF circuit.[14]
He started the season by increasing his 2024 winning streak to 13 matches[15] after he made it through the qualifications at the2025 Australian Open into the main draw for his Grand Slam debut, defeatingRoman Andres Burruchaga and AmericansAleksandar Kovacevic andMackenzie McDonald.[16][17]
