TheGauteng Department of Roads and Transport is adepartment of theGovernment of Gauteng. It is responsible for the development of thetransport system in theGauteng province of South Africa, and for constructing and maintainingbuildings and otherstructures for the other departments of the provincial government.[2][3][4]
One of their key functions is to develop and maintain allRegional routes andProvincial routes (& someNational routes) within the Gauteng province as well as mostmetropolitan routes in Johannesburg andmetropolitan routes in Pretoria.[5][6]
They are also responsible for passing any transport authority bill or road traffic amendment bill in the province.[7][8][9]
