Garth John da Silva (born 28 December 1973 inWellington, New Zealand) is aboxer from New Zealand, who competed at the1996 Summer Olympics inAtlanta, Georgia. There he won his first round in the Heavyweight (-91 kg) division againstCathel O'Grady ofIreland, before losing toSerguei Dychkov ofBelarus.[1] In 1998 he won the bronze medal at the1998 Commonwealth Games inKuala Lumpur. He is the son of wrestlerJohn da Silva.[2]
