Garrett Lerner is an Americantelevision writer andproducer who served as an executive producer on theFox seriesHouse. He often works with his writing partnerRussel Friend.

Television career

Lerner's writing career began on theCBS crime seriesMartial Law, after which he served as a writer and producer on several series through the late 1990s until the early 2000s, includingFreakyLinks,Roswell,John Doe,Boston Public,LAX andSmallville. In 2005, he and Friend joined the writing staff of the medical mystery seriesHouse. Their first episode, "Acceptance", was the premiere of thesecond season. At the start of thefourth season Lerner became an executive producer, a job which he currently still occupies.[1] He and Russel Friend also co-wrote musical dramedyGlee's Season Four episodeGuilty Pleasures.

Awards and nominations

In 2010, Lerner was the recipient of theWriters Guild of America award for theHouseseason six premiere "Broken", which he shared with Russel Friend,David Foster andDavid Shore.[2] Four years running he was nominated for aPrimetime Emmy Award for his work onHouse.[3]
