Gamma (stylized asgamma. with afull stop) is an American media company founded in 2023 by formerApple executiveLarry Jackson and record executive Ike Youssef.[1] Described as a competitor tomajor labels, the company acts as an alternative distributor for multimedia content by means of a prior acquisition of the technology platform Vydia.[2] Upon its launch in March of that year, the company's initial artists includedUsher,Rick Ross, andSnoop Dogg, and laterSexyy Red andFrench Montana.[3][4][5] Jackson founded the company with US$1 billion in start-up capital with investment from billionaires includingTodd Boehly, with "particular and [acute]" focus onBlack culture.[6][7] In addition, the label also distributes older releases for Snoop Dogg andTha Dogg Pound.
