Gabriel Arturo Torres Tejada (born 31 October 1988) is a Panamanian professionalfootballer who plays forTauro and thePanama national team. He plays as aforward.

He was widely regarded as the top prospect fromPanama and in 2007 he traveled twice to England to train withManchester United and once in Spain withValencia. On his second flight toManchester he got injured on the second day of practice and had to return home,[4] where he played forANAPROF sideChepo. In 2008, he was loaned for 6 months to 2007Mustang Cup runner-upLa Equidad, his loan contract was later extended for 6 extra months. In his debut inColombia, Torres scored in a 2–3 loss againstDeportivo Pereira. In January 2009 Torres signed a loan contract for a year with currentMustang Cup championsAmérica Cali.[5] However, after missing the pre-season because of his participation in the2009 UNCAF Nations Cup withPanama, he was relegated to the bench where he would spend most of his matches. On 30 March he was released from America after having returned to his home late and intoxicated,[6][7] allegations Torres has denied.[8]Gaby returned to Panama to play withChepo in April 2009.[9]

In January 2010 Torres moved abroad again to play for Colombian sideAtlético Huila alongside compatriotAmílcar Henríquez[10] and in July 2011 moved to Venezuelan sideZamora[11] and he became the club's all-time top goalscorer in February 2013 after scoring his 29th goal againstPortuguesa.[12]

On 8 August 2013, Torres signed with theColorado Rapids ofMajor League Soccer. He is the Rapids' firstDesignated Player.[13]

International

Torres made his debut forPanama in an October 2005FIFA World Cup qualification match againstTrinidad and Tobago.[14] He was also captain of the Panama U-20 squad that took part in the2007FIFA World Youth Cup in Canada.

In May 2018, Torres was named in Panama's 23-mansquad for the2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.[15]
