Model of steam locomotive

GWR No. 1340 Trojan preserved atDidcot Railway Centre

TheGWR0-4-0STsteam locomotives were acquired by theGreat Western Railway at the 1923grouping. They came from small railways (mostly inSouth Wales) and from contractors. Some of them survived intoBritish Railways ownership in 1948 and a few are preserved.
