TheGR 65 is along-distance walking route of theGrande Randonnée network that extends from theFrench Prealps, across south central France, through thePyrenees.
TheFrench name for this GR route is theChemin de Saint-Jacques and theSpanish name is theCamino de Santiago francés, because the GR 65 is an important variant route of the oldChristianpilgrimage toSantiago de Compostela, one of several variants of theWay of St. James. In English it is theFrench Way, sometimes calledThe Le Puy Route or by its Latin nameVia Podiensis, including its subtrails GR651 and GR652.
The GR 65 is part of the system ofEuropean long-distance paths known asE3 European long distance path.
