Drug Class

GABA receptor antagonists aredrugs that inhibit the action ofGABA. In general these drugs producestimulant andconvulsant effects, and are mainly used for counteractingoverdoses ofsedative drugs.

Examples includebicuculline,securinine andmetrazol, and thebenzodiazepineGABAA receptor antagonistflumazenil.

Other agents which may have GABAA receptor antagonism include the antibioticciprofloxacin,[1]tranexamic acid,[2]thujone,[3]ginkgo biloba,[4] andkudzu.[5]
