Drug Class

GABA receptor antagonists aredrugs that inhibit the action ofGABA. In general these drugs producestimulant andconvulsant effects, and are mainly used for counteractingoverdoses ofsedative drugs.

Examples includebicuculline,securinine andmetrazol, and thebenzodiazepine GABA_A receptor antagonistflumazenil.

Other agents which may have GABA_A receptor antagonism include the antibioticciprofloxacin,^[1]tranexamic acid,^[2]thujone,^[3]ginkgo biloba,^[4] andkudzu.^[5]
