TheHangzhou–Ruili Expressway (Chinese:杭州—瑞丽高速公路), designated asG56 and commonly referred to as theHangrui Expressway (Chinese:杭瑞高速公路) is an east-west expressway inChina that connects the cities ofHangzhou,Zhejiang, andRuili,Yunnan, a city on the border withBurma. When complete, it will be 2,935 km (1,824 mi) in length. Running through mountainous terrain, it is notable for its several tunnels and bridges, including the very highDuge Bridge,Puli Bridge andDimuhe River Bridge.
The expressway is complete in the provinces ofZhejiang,Anhui, andJiangxi. The entire expressway in the provinces ofHubei,Hunan,Guizhou, andYunnan is under construction except for sections fromChangde toJishou inHunan and from theGuizhou border toBaoshan inYunnan.[1]
AtRuili, the expressway will connect to a border crossing toMuse,Myanmar andNational Highway 3.
