Fyodor Aleksandrovich Bredikhin (Russian:Фёдор Александрович Бредихин, 8 December [O.S. 26 November] 1831 – 14 May [O.S. 1 May] 1904) was a Russianastronomer. His surname is sometimes given asBredichin in the literature, and non-Russian sources sometimes render his first name asTheodor.

In 1857 he joined the staff of theobservatory atMoscow University, becoming its director in 1873.[1] In 1890 he became director ofPulkovo Observatory (until 1894) and in the same year became a member of theRussian Academy of Sciences.
He studied the theory ofcomet tails, and also studiedmeteors andmeteor showers.
Theasteroid786 Bredichina and the craterBredikhin on theMoon are named after him. TheF. A. Bredikhin Prize [ru] is awarded by theRussian Academy of Sciences.
