Funda Oru (born 10 July 1985) is aBelgian politician and member of theChamber of Representatives.[1] A member ofVooruit, she has representedLimburg since June 2024.

Oru was born on 10 July 1985 inHeusden-Zolder and is ofTurkish origin.[1][2] She studiedpolitical sciences atVrije Universiteit Brussel (2003–2007).[2][3] She worked at theSocialist Party Different (SP.A)'s research department inLimburg.[2][3] She became an advisor at the federal Ministry of Development Cooperation and Urban Policy in 2022.[2]

Oru was elected to the municipal council in Heusden-Zolder at the2012 local election.[4] She becameSchepen (alderman) for youth, playgrounds, seniors, personnel and poverty reduction in 2014.[5] She was re-elected at the2018 local election.[6] She contested the2014 regional election as the SP.A's 13th placed substitute candidate inLimburg and received 6,725preference votes.[7] She contested the2019 federal election as the SP.A's fifth placed candidate inLimburg but the party won only two seats in the constituency.[8] Oru became vice-chair ofVooruit in 2019.[2][3] She was elected to theChamber of Representatives at the2024 federal election.[9]
