Fulton is anunincorporated community andcensus-designated place (CDP) inKeweenaw County in theU.S. state ofMichigan.[3] The CDP had a population of 149 at the2020 census. The community is located inAllouez Township, immediately southeast of the community ofMohawk. Fulton is located in theCopper Country region of Michigan'sUpper Peninsula.
In 1847, the Forsyth Mining Company began operations at the site of present-day Fulton. In 1853, the Fulton Mining Company took over operations, and opened four new shafts, which discovered numerous deposits ofcopper andsilver.[4][5]
For the2020 census, Fulton was included as a newly-listedcensus-designated place.[6][7]
According to theU.S. Census Bureau, the Fulton CDP has a total area of 0.48 square miles (1.24 km2), all of which is land.[1]
Fulton is located in the south of Keweenaw County, immediately southeast of the community ofMohawk. The community is located in the westernUpper Peninsula of Michigan, and is located on theKeweenaw Peninsula, a smaller peninsula extending intoLake Superior.
