Frozza Orseolo (1015 – 17 February 1071) was a Margravine of Austria by marriage toAdalbert, Margrave of Austria. She was also a member of the VenetianHouse of Orseolo.
Frozza was born in Venice as a daughter of DogeOtto Orseolo and his wife, PrincessGrimelda of Hungary.[1]
Her father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were allDoges of Venice, and were members of theHouse of Orseolo, whose ancestors were the first historical Doges of Venice, theIpatos.[2]
Her brother wasPeter the Venetian, King of Hungary[3] and she was possibly a sister-in-law ofJudith of Schweinfurt.
She marriedAdalbert, Margrave of Austria, of theHouse of Babenberg, and later took the name ofAdelheid. They had 2 sons: Leopold &Ernest, Margrave of Austria.[4]
