Frontier (2021 population:364) is a village in theCanadian province ofSaskatchewan within theRural Municipality of Frontier No. 19 andCensus Division No. 4. Frontier is onHighway 18 and is served by theFrontier Airport located 3.7 kilometres (2.3 mi) south of the village.

History

The Frontier post office was founded in 1917.[1] Frontier incorporated as a village on 10 July 1930.[3]

In the2021 Census of Population conducted byStatistics Canada, Frontier had a population of364 living in152 of its180 total private dwellings, a change of-2.2% from its 2016 population of372. With a land area of 1.05 km2 (0.41 sq mi), it had a population density of346.7/km2 (897.9/sq mi) in 2021.[6]

In the2016 Census of Population, the Village of Frontier recorded a population of372 living in159 of its186 total private dwellings, a5.6% change from its 2011 population of351. With a land area of 0.93 km2 (0.36 sq mi), it had a population density of400.0/km2 (1,036.0/sq mi) in 2016.[7]
