Established in 2008, Friday Filmworks' debut film wasA Wednesday! which earned Neeraj Pandey theIndira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director at the56th Indian National Film Awards. Friday Filmworks has also produced other films that includeSpecial 26,Baby,Total Siyapaa,Saat Uchakkey,M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story,Naam Shabana,Rustom,Toilet: Ek Prem Katha,Aiyaary and others. In 2024, Friday Filmwork releasedAuron Mein Kahan Dum Tha an Indian Hindi-language romantic thriller. The film was written and directed by Neeraj Pandey. The film starsAjay Devgn andTabu in their ninth film together alongsideJimmy Sheirgill,Shantanu Maheshwari andSaiee Manjrekar.

Friday Filmworks also produced a Marathi filmTaryanche Bait in 2011 and a Bengali filmThe Royal Bengal Tiger in 2014. The company has also produced a slew of popular short films likeOuch!,Ouch 2Laddoo, andThe Relationship Manager for Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films.

In 2016, Friday Filmworks andReliance Entertainment formed a Joint Venture namedPlan C Studios to produce films. The movieRustom which was released in 2016 was the first film underPlan C Studios followed byToilet: Ek Prem Katha,Naam Shabana, andAiyaary.

Friday Storytellers is one the digital content production arm of Friday Filmworks; it was founded in 2019 focused on producing multi-format content forOTT and digital streaming.[2] The division released its first official web seriesSpecial Ops forDisney+Hotstar in March 2020 followed by the prequelSpecial Ops 1.5[3] in November 2021. In 2023, Friday Storytellers releasedThe Freelancer a thriller series streaming onDisney+Hotstar.[4] The latest series from Friday Storytellers is Special Ops 2, which is set to release on July 18, 2025, with all episodes streaming onJioHotstar.

The division established partnership with Netflix over a strategic multi-project content deal[5] following the success of first collaboration over the popular cop-drama seriesKhakee: The Bihar Chapter. In 2024, Friday Storytellers released Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, a Hindi-language heist thriller starring Jimmy Sheirgill, Avinash Tiwary, and Tamannaah Bhatia. The film premiered onNetflix on 29 November 2024.[6][7] On March 20, 2025, Friday Storytellers releasedKhakee: The Bengal Chapter onNetflix, a crime drama set in West Bengal. The series expands the Khakee universe with a new storyline rooted in real events and local policing. Friday Storytellers is set to release Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web, a crime thriller web series created byNeeraj Pandey. The series will premiere onNetflix on 14 January 2026, starringEmraan Hashmi,Sharad Kelkar, andZoya Afroz.

Friday Storytellers also collaborated withAmazon miniTV to produceHack: Crimes Online, a cyber-crime thriller series which was released in November 2023.[8] The division has also created documentaries in history and sports.Discovery Plus partnered with Friday Storytellers for three historical documentaries under the franchise titled 'Secrets' and producedSecrets Of Sinauli,Secrets of the Kohinoor, andSecrets of the Buddha Relics hosted by Indian actorManoj Bajpayee.[9] In collaboration withVOOT, Friday Storytellers created a 4-episodes docu-series titledBandon Mein Tha Dum! which follows the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series of 2020-21 which resulted in Indian Cricket Team stunningly defeating Australia team at their home turf of Gabba, where they hadn't lost a test match in 32 years.[10]
