TheDidon was a 60-gunDryade-class first rankfrigate of theFrench Navy.
Didon took part in theInvasion of Algiers in 1830, and in theBattle of the Tagus the next year.[1]
Didon ran aground on the south coast ofSaint Croix on 25 May 1836 and lost her rudder. Although refloated, she ran aground a second time before being taken in toFrederickstadt.[2] She later took part in theCrimean War as a troopship.[1]
